“1945 - The War Is Over”

Found this old German WWII gas mask in an abandoned house.

I’m amazed at the artifacts you sometimes discover while urbexing; this house was full of all kinds of goodies. It should stand as another reason for anyone involved with urbex to be wary of how much information you share online. We need to protect places like this from scavengers, whom sadly even exists within the urbex community. These items may not hold any real physical value, but taking them is steeling nonetheless. Plus it kills the place for future urbexers. Furthermore it gives us all a bad reputation, so we need to take a stand and distance ourselves from these people.

It’s really a shame we have to be so secretive, because I love to read about the history behind the locations people discover, and I’d love to share the history I’ve pieced together on the locations I’ve been to. Personally that’s a big reason why I love urbexing, but that information just makes it too easy for people - with questionable intentions - to find these places.

Take nothing but photographs, leave only footprints.
