My name is Mike, known elsewhere as B5160-R, I’m 24 and resides in Denmark. I’m an amateur photographer, and my main interest concerning photography is Urban Exploration - or as I’ve picked up from Steven Halls book entitled “The Raw Shark Texts”: “Un-Space Exploration.” I prefer the later term, because “un-space” is the best way to describe the feel of a derelict building. Time stands still there, nothing has a function any more and so it gradually moves from occupied space, to abandoned space: un.space.
I’ve always had an interest in abandoned buildings, but only started taking photos of them about six months ago. Up until then I didn’t have a decent camera, and frankly wasn’t interested in documenting what I saw, just being there was enough for me.
I’m practically still a rookie when it comes to photography, so forgive me if I write something wrong. My camera is a Nikon D7000, a DX format digital SLR. Without a doubt the best camera I’ve had in my hands, and fell in love with it from the get go. I mainly use two lenses with it: The stock Nikon AF-S DX VR 18/105 and my favorite lens, the Nikon Af 50 f/1.8D.
My goal with this blog is to present my documentations of Un-Space. Background stories, photos, videos, accounts about the process involved, and personal experience. I also hope to find equal minded people to exchange experience with.
I’ll leave you with that for now.
